I recently had the opportunity to participate in a public art event. The idea was to give a bunch of artists the same platform to use, and see what ideas would emerge. It was eye opening.

Newburgh, NY, where I live, sometimes mistakenly referred to as the murder capital of NY state, was celebrating the 100th anniversary of the lighting of our city by Thomas Edison. Yes, Edison lived here and worked here for quite some time. In an effort to change the prevailing perceptions of
