3rd in the Series

As you probably have noticed, I don’t do figures often. When in art school, way, way back in the day, I loved figure drawing classes. But since then, I lost the passion. I enjoy painting lonely landscapes. Sans people. Once in a while, I will put a figure into a piece only if it is absolutely necessary.

ANYHOW, this piece screamed to be painted. I thought about it for a month, and decided it was time to tackle a piece where the figures were the focal point. Thank god it was a night painting! I love to do night paintings.

I had been out on that patio, observing and eavesdropping. Bad me. But I knew it was a real opportunity, and I had to seize it. And, I had the perfect size canvas, sitting on my easel, waiting for the right painting.

It was the most fun I have had in a long time. I painted all hours of night and day, because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I couldn’t sleep, and barely cooked during this time.
