Newburgh Open Studios
This weekend, Sept. 29 and 30th, Newburgh artists will be opening their studios or temporary spaces for the public. Open Studios is a free, self guided tour. Come and meet the artists who live and create their art here in the “burgh”.
Maps will be available Saturday and Sunday at Newburgh Art Supply, 5 Grand Street, Newburgh. Phone #845.561.5552. Pick up a map and walk or drive to see the artwork of people who interest you. Go one or both days. There are between 25-30 artists participating this year.
I am participating again, but this time I will be showing in my new in-home gallery and studio. We have turned our oddly shaped living room into a nice gallery space for my paintings. My studio is right off this room. It works out well. So pick up a map, find my address, and come on by. The tour hours are 11:00 – 5:00 both days.

June
I will be participating in a show with the Orange County Arts Council. I have two paintings and a poem in this show. It will be a nice change for me, as I don’t know many of the other artists involved. I will attach the information for this show that the Arts Council is advertising. 
My show, “Essence of Light” with Dennis Fanton and Ellen Jamison, will run from June 1st to June 30th.
I am very excited about this show. We will hang it Thursday or Friday, Friday being June 1st. That is a close call, as there is a reception that evening for the Orange County Tourism show at the Seligmann House in Sugar Loaf that evening, in which I have two of my best paintings. Old Barn and Fall Riot.
Our reception on Saturday, June 2nd, Essence of Light, is from 5-7 pm. These paintings are newer works for all three of us. My combo pieces- the oils with the same painting done in watercolor in batik method on rice paper will be on display for the first time. I’ve got to get my part of the menu together, and buy some wine. People come to the Wallkill River School receptions every month, because they are really fun! The artists are there to talk, explain, share and enjoy the support of the people who have made the effort to come. And those who come really enjoy the conversations, the food, and definitely the wine. A good time is had by all.
I hope anyone in the Hudson Valley will make the effort to stop by on June 2nd t0 see all the hard work and beautiful paintings on the walls.
